Nancy Lipson,
Registered Social Worker

I specialize in eating disorders and related issues, self-esteem issues, and anxiety. I am here to help you rediscover balance.Working from an eclectic approach drawing on what I have learned from my training in Psychodynamic Therapy, Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness, I provide a safe environment for us to explore and work on the issues that bring you to therapy.

Modalities

Interal Family Systems (IFS)

Group Therapy

In an Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy session, you and your therapist explore the different "parts" of your personality - like the inner critic or the people-pleaser that influence your thoughts and behaviours.IFS helps you step into your Self. The calm, confident CEO of your internal team, so you can understand these parts, unburden the ones carrying old trauma, and create a little more balance in your mind. Instead of feeling stuck in patterns of self-sabotage or overwhelm, you start making decisions from a place of clarity and self-trust.It’s not about “fixing” yourself. It’s about listening to and working with the parts of you that need attention, so they don’t have to scream for it.

Sensorymotor Psychotherapy (SP)

Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), developed by Dr. Pat Ogden, integrates the body into trauma healing. Rooted in neuroscience, psychology, and somatic therapy, SP builds on Hakomi principles to address both emotional and physical responses to trauma.SP follows a three-phase process: Safety & Stabilization, Processing, and Integration. Therapists and clients work together to ensure healing happens at a safe pace, strengthening natural survival instincts and developing missing resources. Once these are in place, past trauma can be processed without overwhelm.

Insurance

As a Registered Social Worker in Ontario, my services are covered by many workplace benefits that include Social Work. Depending on your workplace benefits you may have coverage.I’d recommend asking these questions to your insurance provider to help determine your benefits:

  • Does my benefits plan include mental health services from a Social Worker?

  • Do I have a deductible? If so, what is it and have I met it yet?

  • Does my plan limit how many sessions per calendar year I can have? If so, what is the limit?

  • Do I need written approval from my primary care physician in order for services to be covered?

Eating Disorder and Body Image

Heal your relationship with food, your body and with yourself. If you have done the behavioural work of eating disorder recovery and feel something is missing, you're not alone. Whether it’s eliminating those last few eating disorder symptoms and thoughts, improving negative body image, or you feel ready for the deep work on what is underneath it all, we will gently explore what’s underneath, and work toward trust, balance, and acceptance.Common concerns:- After all your hard work you struggle to remain free of eating disorder symptoms and thoughts
- Negative body image
- Part of you wants to fully recover and part of you is scared to fully recover
You deserve peace—not perfection.

Anxiety

Anxiety doesn't have to run the show.
From overthinking to panic attacks, anxiety can take over your day, your sleep, and your relationships.
Together, we’ll uncover what’s fueling the worry and build tools to help you feel grounded again.
Common signs of anxiety:
- Trouble concentrating or racing thoughts
- Feeling revved up inside or difficulty relaxing
- Social anxiety, perfectionism, or people-pleasing
Let’s slow things down and find your breath again.

Self-Esteem & Self-Growth

Rebuild the story you tell yourself.Low self-worth often sounds like a critical voice that holds you back. In therapy, we’ll explore where those beliefs came from, and begin rewriting them with kindness and truth. You may relate if you:
- Constantly second-guess or compare yourself
- Feel “not enough” in work or relationships
- Struggle to advocate for your needs
Self-GrowthYou don’t have to be in crisis to want more. If you're craving change, clarity, or deeper purpose, this is your time. We’ll explore your values, set meaningful goals, and help you grow into the version of yourself you’re ready to become.
